my english class started today, and i have an essay due next week (yay!!!!). one of my biggest goals this year is to reduce unecessary stress in my life by not procrastinating, so i'm going to write up a draft for it and hopefully finish it by wednesday. sometimes i take a step back and realize that my life never had to be this stressful;; like, maybe if i didn't push myself so much for what i predict is going to be very little in return, i could have actually enjoyed myself throughout high school. but my parents are also pretty strict, so i guess it doesn't really matter anyways because all of these classes fill all the time i spend at home chilling anyways...
ALSO!! on the topic of school, because i'm not sure where else to put this, i set up my assignment spreadsheet!! i made one last year and i ended up using it the entire year, so here's to a successful organization strategy :))
my new spreadsheet........
i set it up so that it would do quite a few things automatically:
- color code my classes
- count how many tasks i have
- tell me when something is close to its due date
it counting how many tasks i have is kinda unecessary, but it was amusing to see it grow to a whopping ~441 tasks last year. of course, i have to manually put in the assignments, but it's something that's easy for me so it's all good!! i'm probably going to end up going over 441 tasks this year because i'm taking 2 more classes (or maybe just one if things go wrongly...), so there's that. i was also able to make a pi chart from the data i gathered last year, which was pretty goofy to look at because most of the assignments came from my english class. luckily i checked the syllabus of my english class for this year and despite being a college course, it seems like it'll be surprisingly less work than AP lit. i'm still kinda scared of it though, because it's an actual college class and i have never done this befoer AAAGHHH
i've been watching a lot of vlogs lately, and while they are fun to watch i do find it kind of irking that a lot of the "oh i should watch this" factor of vlogs comes from things that they've bought/consumption in general. like i'm not going to lie, it's a fun past time to see people who own stuff and then fantasize about owning things, but at the same time i don't really need any of it and neither does the person i'm watching. this goes for practically anything on any social media platform, because the things that tend to gain the most traction are hauls, which become even more disturbing the bigger they become. the people whose vlogs i like the most/consistently watch are mostly centered around their life, what they do, and what they have to say, so i guess i should be actively seeking out those kinds of posts wherever i go instead...
