ROSiN's about page

Not from the free encyclopedia

If you were by any chance wondering, "who runs the website of ROSiN?", you are in the right place. Take a look at a few of my favorites; I think I got a bit carried away because I just love so many things. Scroll down for some fun quiz results ^__^

Half-assed history of ROSiN

I'm not really sure how exactly I stumbled upon Neocities, but I'll attempt to give you a long-winded rundown:

In my freshman year of high school, I used to run a fan account on Instagram for the now non-existent mobile game 夢職人と忘れじの黒い妖精, also known as Dream Meister and the Recollected Black Fairy. Did I have any clue what was going on in the game? Absolutely not. It was too niche for me to find any translations, but I really really liked the graphics. Anyways, after observing many other social media bios, I decided that I needed my own Carrd. Except I was too lazy to even consider reading a tutorial of how to make my own-- but what I already knew was some basic HTML from messing around with it during middle school. So I used Github to host some basic info about me and the account I was running.

At some point in time during all of this, I saw someone show off their website hosted in Neocities and I thought that was the coolest thing ever. I probably ended up researching some more about Neocities and decided to join with my first website.

I got so into HTML that I ended up building my own website for an AP English project, which I'm pretty sure got an A. I'm very proud of it, but for my own privacy reasons I will not be showing it. I also forgot what the name I registered for it was...

Anyways, that first website went through various layout changes, much like this one. I ultimately decided that I wanted a fresh start, and abandoned it for this one!!! So let's all hope I don't do that again. I have high hopes for myself this time around, so I think ROSiN is here for a long time.

More about me if you're still reading (Oversharing galore!)

My career aspirations: Urban planner or something of the sort. After being introduced to the concept of "walkability" and "bikeability" by my 9th grade speech and debate teacher (who rides his bike practically every single day), I have since become determined to end up in a place where I can make that happen. Do I have any idea how? Not really, but I'll try and figure that out when I transfer to a 4-year university. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford ANY university I applied to, so I'm trying to get my money up while I'm in community college and make my way back to uni (FAFSA was and continues to be no help at all... thanks a lot).

I'm someone who's always valued my education (perhaps to an unhealthy extent), so not being able to go to a uni straight away was kind of a blow to everything I was working towards in high school. Of course, that doesn't mean community college isn't good and an extremely accessible resource-- it's been really chill so far and I hope to make the best of my time while I'm attending it. Next semester, I'm taking these classes:

  • Physics (unfortunately taking both AP Physics 1 and 2 didn't cover my credits, but maybe that isn't such a bad thing considering my teacher was kinda ass)
  • Chemistry (again, my AP Chemistry class didn't clear this class for me. But again, my teacher was kinda ass so it's good that I'm retaking this class)
  • Differential equations (I'm retaking this one in hopes of getting an A...)
  • Some sort of AutoCAD 3D course
And I joined the honor's society, so I've decided I'm going to take honors differential equations and whatever else I can. God help me. But not really I've got this. Maybe??? It's sort of ironic that I've chosen a STEM major and therefore have to take a bunch of STEM classes because these are the classes where I really "struggled" back in high school. But now I can wholeheartedly say that I am absolutely a masochist. I'm in it for the love of the game.
